3.	ANTUNES, Eduardo. 2015. Ópera do Tejo: Investigação e reconstituição tridimensional. ed. 1. Lisboa: FA-ULisboa. The work object of this study is the Lisbon Royal Opera House of Tagus, conceived by the Italian architect Giovanni Carlo Sicinio Galli Bibiena, inaugurated on the 31st of March of 1755, and destroyed at the 1st of November earthquake on that same year. Unique case in the Portuguese panorama of theatre buildings, this was the result of a policy initiated exclusively with José I of Portugal, in order to materialize the taste for Italian opera in Portugal. With this work, the objectives we set out to achieve were to build a unifying vision of the historiography of the Tagus Opera; to draw up a representative three-dimensional model of the theatre as it may have been built, through the use of contemporary digital tools; and finally to propose a work methodology for studies of historic buildings of which is known little or no information. As a result, we generated a historiography of the Opera House of Tagus and a study on how this theatre may have been designed and built. From this, we were able to create a three-dimensional model of what the theatre might have been according to our analysis, covering structural, architectural and ornamental aspects. Finally, this work contributed to a broadening of the historiographical view of the theatre, through the identification of proportional and eventually stylistic relations between this project and the project by Francesco Bibiena for the Nancy Royal Opera House (1704). It also contributed to a renewed graphical and descriptive interpretation of what could have been the Opera House of Tagus, as well as a more concrete methodology proposal for this type of work.

Lisboa: Archi&Book´s. Known as one of the most important families of architects and stage designers of the eighteenth century, the Galli Bibiena’s worked for the main European courts, from Lisbon to St. Petersburg, where they earned international notoriety and recognition. Based on the research performed by us in the last decade on the work realized by the Galli Bibiena family, and particularly in the recent research carried out for the Master thesis effects, this paper aims to present some of the results obtained under the subject of the theatrical architecture developed by Francesco and Giovanni Carlo Sicinio, respectively, father and son. In particular, we aim to share out a series of analyses made between the Nancy Royal Opera House (1709) and the Lisbon Royal Opera House of Tagus (1755), in order to deepen the current knowledge of these two buildings and highlight some of its main features. Namely, regarding the use of the proportion and a set of elements in the formation of a specific language, that (may) confine to a common morphological identity. To conclude, we will demonstrate the existence of a formal and stylistic identity, which was used among the various members of this family, in particular in professional and academic level relating father and son.

This text concerns three kinds of use of Film´s Fictional Space as a Storyteller will be displayed in analyzing three paradigmatic movies: Shining as the use of "Premonitory Space", Once upon a time in the west as "Ruler Defining Space" and Inception in the study of "Space as a Mind Extension". Premonitory Space: anticipation of events and actions of plot's fiction, by means of emotions induced by subtle and converging use of signifiers created by combined use of syntax in composition, motion, light, color, space, camera use, sound or action. Ruler Defining Space: the use o space as a fictional defining characters and plot potential place and actions in it, creating strength lines, boundaries of "material" and "visual" space, as stage for action support and constrain, selector and ruler of characters moves, positions and actions, sense, coherence and credibility tool for action and plot. Fiction space and place construction can determine all the logic, display, feels and sense of developing plot's action and drama. Space as a Mind Extension: the space that talks about Events happening in the Self. Space can echo inner life and character events, reacting to inner characters thoughts, feelings and fates. Behaving this way, space portrays itself signs of the events and inner life related to central characters of the fictions and plot.

Para uma arquitectura do mar: contributo para uma metodologia de interpretação integrada das áreas costeiras,REPORT(H)A - II Meeting Environmental Changes in Historical Perspective,Lisboa,2017 (Comunicação). Em Portugal, a ocupação urbana do litoral esteve, numa fase inicial, confinada a uma fisiografia, clima e solo propícios à instalação das actividades humanas, associada à exploração dos recursos do mar, que era completada por uma economia de subsistência ligada à terra. Com a introdução de mecanismos de produção industrial e o consequente desenvolvimento de uma economia liberal no século XX, este sistema de exploração integrada, designe-se assim, ultrapassou o âmbito local, numa progressiva perda de identidade cultural por parte das comunidades envolvidas nesse sistema, tornando-se incompatível com os processos naturais de transformação da paisagem. Tentando compreender as causas e efeitos deste fenómeno, no que diz respeito aos factos urbanos, torna-se necessário desenvolver uma análise histórica e evolutiva das transformações ocorridas a nível social, económico, político e, também, ambiental na paisagem, tendo sempre em conta as necessidades humanas de apropriação cultural e biológica dos recursos disponíveis. Neste contexto, a arquitectura pode ser entendida como condição e testemunho desse processo de apropriação, como elemento físico constituinte da paisagem e como valor da urbanidade que daí resulta, tornando-se uma referência histórica (de permanência temporal) e sintomática (de relação emocional e afectiva) culturalmente reconhecida. Neste sentido, pretende-se, na presente proposta de comunicação, dar a conhecer uma metodologia de interpretação integrada das áreas costeiras com base na sua arquitectura, segundo uma abordagem morfotipológica, isto é, de caracterização simultaneamente morfológica (relativa à forma urbana) e tipológica (relativa à regra constitutiva dessa forma).

ANTUNES, Eduardo; RIBEIRO, Ricardo. For Sea Architectures,III CHAM International Conference – Oceans and Shores: Heritage, People and Environments,Lisboa,2017 (Poster). In Portugal, the traditional urban occupation of coastal areas (as a sea-land transition, with a high ecological dynamic and complex ecosystem) was confined to the biophysical suitable conditions (hydrography, soil and climate) based on sea resources subsistence, complemented by land exploitation. In this context, the Sea Architectures, as a cultural expression of its potential, respected those conditions by applying traditional materials and construction techniques available in the region. However, an urban occupation model based on industrial production methods became later unsuited to the natural transformation processes of the landscape. Since then, the memories of the local communities were disconnected from their temporal borders and spatial experience, which resulted in a progressive uprooting due to a loss of affection, making the coastal areas’ preservation pointless. In this sense, the present communication proposal intends to present an alternative analysis and diagnosis methodology of coastal areas, according to an integrated interpretation of their landscape. It consists in a morpho-typological characterization of its biophysical functional systems and human occupation processes, with an approach simultaneously morphological (related to the physical) and typological (related to the symbolical). A set of methodological steps will be described, comparing different sources of information and scales of observation, to determine the main territorial specificities and local culture framework, ensuring the natural transformation processes of the landscape. This methodology allows us to understand the relationship between the human needs and biophysical conditions, by which we’ll be able to develop a suitable preservation strategy of coastal areas, recovering their Sea Architectures.
